Zünd User News Did you know.....? .....That a plotter in one year, runs thousands of kilometres at normal use?.....That a plotter also has gears, bearings and other moving parts that once in a while need to be maintained?
We recommend all plotters to be inspected/Maintained on a regular basis.
Quality problems – pen inserts:
For many years we have been using the pen inserts from the Company Fisher for our Zund and Wild plotters. Unfortunately there seems to be a quality problem at the moment; pressing the tip of the pen insert into the cylinder. The dimensions of the inserts has changed. Because of this, the pen inserts do not slide as smoothly in and out of the pen holder as intended. The result leads to unclean drawing lines. The maufacturer is aware of the problem but they are probably not willing to go back to the previous quality / dimensions. For the moment we have to machine all pen inserts, to make sure that they do not get stuck in the insert sleve.
Better Zund Performance:
New relays for 0,9 KW - 110 Volt pumps (USA):
After several problems with the 110V relays for the 0.9 KW pumps we have found the reason. The problem was, that the relay was always overheated because of it´s position (on top of the motor). The new relay box is bigger and mounted with a bracket on the side of the box. The cable diameter was also too small. For all customers with problems with the existing relays, Zünd offers a free upgrade. If you need this upgrade kit, please note that we supply the relay box completely assambled - but without the mains plug. Please order these kits at Zünd Service Corporation.
Additional protection against dust:
On the front side of the beam there are several holes. In a dusty enviroment or routing jobs, it is possible that dirt goes into the beam and could cause contamination on the inside drive components. These holes can be covered with a self adhesive vinyl sticker.
